Dick and Carol Ladiges opened this Newport Avenue shop in June 1997, and Carol kept it running after Dick died in 2011. A November 2023 electrical fire took out two freezers and shut the place down for more than a year before it reopened in January 2025. The counter still turns out its hot waffle ice cream sandwich alongside more than thirty flavors of hard and soft serve, plus malts, sundaes, and sorbets. Peninsula Beacon readers have voted it a gold medal winner for ten years running.
