Mary Frese, who also owns Clayton's Diner and Clayton's Mexican Takeout elsewhere in Coronado, opened this boulangerie and bistro in a former pizza shop, redone with copper tin ceiling tiles, Carrara marble counters, walnut-stained beadboard and vintage Edison bulbs reflecting warm light off the ceiling. The morning menu runs from a Croque Madame and quiche lorraine to a Dutch Baby pancake and warm beignets, alongside croissants and bagels baked in house. It's first-come, first-served: the bistro doesn't take reservations.
