Gelato Vero Caffe

A former home of the Marquis Public theater at the corner of India and Washington has held this gelato and espresso bar since 1984. Espresso comes from Cafe Calabria beans, paired with a chai the cafe calls its own, and the gelato case rotates through flavors like chocolate hazelnut, spumoni, coconut sorbet and dark chocolate. Lava cake, buttery croissants and house-made cookies round out the counter beside gelato-based drinks like the Verocinno Frosty.
