Villa Nueva Bakery

A bakery has stood at this Coronado corner since 1911, when it opened as Anderson's Coronado Home Bakery; it passed through the Stavros family's Primavera Pastry Cafe, then Jorge Partida and Luis Madrid renamed it Villa Nueva in 2003, and the Serio and Lopez families have run it since 2010. The case holds cinnamon rolls, palmiers and gigantic muffins alongside pistachio croissants and baklava cheesecake, and the kitchen also turns out breakfast burritos, orange blossom pancakes and enchiladas. Vegan and gluten-free options run through the lunch and dinner menu too.
