Solterra Winery, a family operation based in Encinitas, runs this Carlsbad Village tasting room as a casual outpost of its main program under owner Christopher Van Alyea. Visitors don't need any wine knowledge going in: pours come by the glass or flight alongside cheese and charcuterie boards, and outside food is welcome at the tables. Food trucks set up on Thursdays and Fridays, and live music fills the patio Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons. The tasting room closes Tuesdays and runs a daily happy hour from 3 to 5:30.
