Charlie & Echo

A converted warehouse space in the Miralani Makers District north of MCAS Miramar holds this urban winery, where cofounder Eric van Drunen has made natural wine since 2010. His sparkling wines use only the yeasts found on the grape skins, with no oaking or acid correction, producing bottles like Darkstar, a syrah-zinfandel blend, and a sour red called The Kraken. The tasting room pours flights, glasses, and bottles alongside artisanal snacks, and Friday Night Flights add bonus pours each week. Outside food is welcome, and neighboring stalls in the complex sell sushi and salsa.
