Caves Wine Bar & Shop

Gavin and Amy Barnes run Caves as a two-person operation on North Coast Highway in Leucadia, choosing every bottle themselves from small, hand-crafted producers around the world. The shop started online-only, shipping bottles nationwide before opening its Encinitas storefront, and still sells more than 150 selections at retail prices to take home. Wine by the glass comes in 3-ounce and 5-ounce pours so a visit can move through several bottles in an evening, and a monthly club sends two bottles built around a single wine region.
