About this spot
On our list of the best wine bars in San Diego.
Luis Rivera and Tim Gastel-Wardell, two wine-industry veterans, built Dorothy's inside The Headquarters at Seaport as what they call a third space, somewhere between home and work rather than a formal restaurant. The by-the-glass list rotates through small, independent new-world producers, poured for people who'd rather ask questions than recite tasting notes. Food stays snack-sized: charcuterie boards, choripan, jackfruit barbecue sliders, meant to go with wine rather than replace a dinner. The patio catches the afternoon sun, and the room's warm lighting is most of why Hoodline called it one of Seaport's coziest corners.
