About this spot
On our list of the best wine bars in San Diego.
Billy and Suzanna Beltz started Oddish after running Lost Cause Meadery, applying the same instinct for fermenting outside the rulebook to grapes instead of honey. The wines co-ferment San Diego County fruit with whatever is in season: a syrah-grenache blend called Cosmic Dance, a pineapple co-ferment named Tepache Mode, a skin-contact white going by Random Forces. The tasting room shares a courtyard at The Garten in Bay Park with Deft Brewing, a Lost Cause outpost, and a pizza vendor, so a glass here can turn into a crawl across all four. It's open Wednesday through Sunday for pours, flights, and bottles to go.
