Skip and Maureen Coomber run their Oceanside tasting room like a neighborhood living room: a covered, heated patio where a different local musician plays every night of the week, from six to nine. Skip also owns California Music Lessons, with more than two hundred instructors on staff, which explains why the acts booked here write their own material instead of covering the radio. There's no kitchen, so guests can bring their own dinner or order from restaurants nearby and eat it alongside a glass of the house red or white. Dogs and kids are both part of the scene.
