About this spot
On our list of the best wine bars in San Diego.
Keith Rolle traded a Spanish-immersion school in Ensenada for viticulture school in Washington state, then came home to open an urban winery under his own name. Gianni Buonomo moved from Ocean Beach to a bigger space on Pickett Street in the Midway District in 2024, a seven-minute walk from Pechanga Arena with on-site parking. The list runs toward grapes San Diego rarely sees: Charbono, Lagrein, Blaufrankisch, Nebbiolo, Aglianico, sourced from Washington state and California's Sierra Foothills. Walk-ins are fine any day the doors are open; only groups of six or more need to call ahead.
