Yvette Leeper-Bueno opened this 57-seat Harlem restaurant in 2013, drawing on family ties to the neighborhood that go back to the 1950s. The bar itself has history too: a mahogany, zinc-topped counter salvaged from an old Gramercy Park tavern, and church-pew banquettes line the rest of the room. The kitchen moves between Italy and Spain: homemade spaghetti with fava beans, grilled octopus over celery frisee, striped bass in a ramp sauce, backed by a wine list of fifty-three bottles from small producers.
