Charters and lessons here have run out of King Harbor since 2005, using a fleet that includes 26-foot J/80s and a larger Farr 40. Beginners can work toward an ASA sailing certification with an instructor aboard, while a private charter sends a skipper along so passengers can just sit back for a 90-minute, two-hour, or three-hour sail. The school also runs sunset cruises and courses built for women only, plus youth camps in summer. A private charter holds up to six people.
