The boat's lower room has benches facing seven-foot windows below the waterline, where garibaldi, the state's official marine fish, drift past calico bass, perch, opaleye and smelt. Passengers start out on the open top deck watching for sea lions and pelicans while the captain narrates the harbor's history, then head downstairs for the underwater views. Tours run about 45 minutes and leave from the International Boardwalk at King Harbor. The company backs each trip with a wildlife guarantee: no mermaids, but sea lions and pelicans are close to certain.
