Films play outdoors in the Ackerman Family Amphitheater, which seats about a hundred and runs movies through the summer. The museum left its rooms inside the Catalina Casino in 2016 for the Ada Blanche Wrigley Schreiner Building on Metropole Avenue, half a mile away: red tile roofs and colonnades over 18,000 square feet. One gallery holds the island's own history, and the rest rotate through shows borrowed from collections elsewhere in the world.
