(4)About this spot
On our lists of the best speakeasies and special-occasion restaurants in San Diego.
The name comes from the area code of Carencro, Louisiana, chef Jay Fernell's hometown, and the menu carries that reference through dishes built from Southern staples and Southern California seasonal ingredients. The restaurant began in 2020 with dinners served inside Fernell's own two-bedroom apartment; it now runs from a downtown loft that seats only eight guests a night. Thursdays and Fridays bring a six-course dinner, Saturdays an eleven-course version, each a single nightly seating booked well in advance.
