Two members of San Diego's music scene run this pop-punk bar in Ocean Beach: Jay Nightride, who produces music videos and plays in a Death Cab for Karaoke tribute set, and Tony Jaw, who has run karaoke nights around town for over a decade. Mornings bring pastries and James Coffee; after dark the kitchen turns out New England-style beach pizza, a thin-crust, sweet-tomato-sauce style most people outside North Shore, Massachusetts have never heard of. Skee-ball, beer pong and a bank of arcade machines sit under band memorabilia and a mural from local artist Konecki, and the bar's specialty cocktail runs through a flower called Buzz Button that leaves a tingling, numbing sensation on the tongue.
