Athenaeum Art Center

Inside the Bread & Salt building on Julian Avenue in Barrio Logan, more than 5,000 square feet serve as an offsite campus for the century-old Athenaeum Music & Arts Library in La Jolla, opened here in 2016. The print studio runs ten presses and more than 300 cases of type, open weekly to the public alongside drop-in life-drawing sessions and classes in painting, sculpture, encaustic, and bookbinding. Galleries stay open Tuesday through Saturday, with extended hours during the neighborhood's second-Saturday Barrio Art Crawl.
