Inside the Sofia Hotel on Broadway, Truva serves the Turkish cooking of owner Meliha Karahan alongside an American-Mediterranean menu: a mezze board of baba ghanoush and stuffed grape leaves, Beyti kebabs of minced beef and lamb, cabbage rolls, and hand-folded dumplings, with bread baked in-house. The 145-seat room centers on an L-shaped bar that seats a dozen, done in light wood and green accents, plus a patio and a private room that holds about twelve. By day the kitchen runs a Mediterranean and American brunch, with a breakfast board of olives and fried cheese rolls, a falafel burrito and shakshuka, and by night the same room turns into candlelit dinner service.
