When Mother's Saloon closed in 2020 after nine years, bar veterans Sabrina Sutphin and Jason Micozzi (both formerly of Lucy's Tavern) and Tom North (a onetime Lamplighter bartender and 2006 CityBeat bartender of the year) reopened it with the same look and feel before eventually renaming it Northside Tavern. They cut the old menu down to quick beach food with weekend breakfast and built a 2,000-square-foot beer garden out back with misters and TVs for the sports crowd. Live bands still play most nights, with karaoke on Thursdays and trivia on Wednesdays.
