Bar Susanne

A waterfront perch on Williamsburg's River Street holds Bar Susanne, with an unobstructed view of the Williamsburg Bridge that the kitchen times dinner around: the light turns pink and orange near sunset over plates of crab salad or razor clam ceviche. The raw bar anchors a menu of local seafood, including oysters, scallop crudo and a roast half chicken, from a chef who previously ran the kitchens at Nura and Kellogg's Diner. After dark the peach-colored dining room fills up over oysters while Italian disco plays, and a sister spot next door, Cafe Susanne, handles coffee and cocktails.
