Nowon Bushwick

Jae Lee named Nowon after his home district in Seoul, starting as a pop-up in a biker bar before opening the original East Village restaurant in 2019. The Bushwick location, open since 2023, inherited its building's wood-fired oven and uses it for Korean-topped pizzas like the Bushwick Buldak (roasted chicken, rice cakes, gochujang sauce, mozzarella) alongside the kimchi cheeseburger that built the brand's name. Up front, a small bar and lounge area has a disco ball and DJ booth; the main dining room seats about 60. Lee no longer drinks, so the cocktail list carries a real set of non-alcoholic options too.
