Inca Paisa Restaurant Astoria

Owner John Salazar, who grew up in Colombia and originally trained as a civil engineer, opened this Astoria spot in 2023 after a first Inca Paisa in Bayside and Raices Colombianas in Jackson Heights. Floor-to-ceiling windows open the room to Broadway, and a hallway to the restrooms is decorated like a garden, with Colombian hats and Nazca figures nodding to the Amazon connection between Peru and Colombia. The kitchen runs Colombian and Peruvian plates side by side: ceviche, bandeja paisa, seafood rice. Weekday happy hour, 2 to 7, pours a guava frosé and an Inca Paisa Mule.
