Caravan Chicken turns out Peruvian-style rotisserie chicken at a steady clip in Astoria, where locals grab it for takeout about as often as they sit down. The chicken comes off the rotisserie moist and well-charred, with crackly seasoned skin, served alongside pork fried rice, sweet plantains and a spicy green aji sauce diners get unlimited refills of at the table. The room itself is plain, a bright yellow dining area to the side of the counter where you order. A whole bird costs less than a sit-down entrée almost anywhere else in the city.
