The Four Horsemen

James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem opened The Four Horsemen on Grand Street with his wife Christina Topsøe, restaurateur Randy Moon, and wine director Justin Chearno, who built a natural wine list that grew past 900 selections. Chearno died in August 2024, and William Chance Piper now runs the program with the same emphasis on approachable bottles over trophy names. Chef Nick Curtola cooks out of a small kitchen that started with simple wine-bar snacks, charcuterie and cheese, and turns over a more ambitious, rotating menu today. The room is built around a teak bar top, with seating both at tables and standing at the counter.
