Boonnum Thongngoen opened the Williamsburg location of her AM-THAI in 2024, building on the original Am Thai Bistro in Park Slope. The name nods to the bond between Thongngoen, a Thai immigrant, and her American-born son, and the menu carries that mix through dishes like a panang curry and a khao soi built on American Wagyu beef alongside the traditional version. It sits next door to Mido Omakase Room on South 1st Street.
