Campagnola has served Italian food from the same First Avenue storefront since 1982, drawing enough regulars over the decades that Joe Biden picked it for his granddaughter's birthday dinner in 2024, ordering the chicken alla parmigiana. The kitchen serves family-style plates like clams baked with parmesan and garlic, a pasta sampler of gnocchi, penne vodka and ravioli, and Dover sole. Bread and a plate of cheese and cured meats arrive before you've ordered, and tables sit close together in a room built for both a couple and a bigger group.
