Pitmasters Matt Abdoo and Shane McBride built this Astoria outpost around what they call the city's largest indoor smokers, in a 28,000-square-foot building with three bars and a backyard beer garden holding a 28-foot screen and a live music stage. Food comes cafeteria-style: order at a counter, pick up a tray, and choose from five house sauces at the pass. The decor leans into a beachy theme despite sitting nowhere near water, with picnic tables filling a yard built for hundreds. There's no taking reservations outside of private parties of 20 or more, so tables run first-come, first-served.
