An espresso bar at the entrance gives way to a mahogany-paneled dining room with banquette seating at this Madison Avenue outpost of Sant Ambroeus, styled after the original Milan cafe. Cornetti, cakes and cookies come out of the on-site pasticceria daily, and the Infatuation singles out the Principessa cake as the reason to visit even before the pasta. A younger, trendier crowd than the rest of the Upper East Side gathers under an art deco chandelier for freddo cappuccinos. The kitchen runs the coffee bar until 10pm most nights.
