Built in 1767 as Aaron Burr's carriage house on Barrow Street, the dining room keeps its brick walls, high ceilings and garden-view arched windows under a run of chandeliers. The kitchen serves a seven-course tasting menu alongside a three-course prix fixe, with duck ragu pappardelle among the steadier plates. Open since 1973, the restaurant now hosts about two proposals a week on average, more around Valentine's Day.
