Bare tables topped with butcher paper and paintings of Greek village scenes fill this tiny Astoria corner spot, which the Michelin Guide calls an old-time retreat for rustic Greek cooking. The kitchen turns out tirokafteri (feta whipped with pickled chilies, served with hot pita), batter-coated peppers stuffed with salty cheese, and a double-cut, bone-in lamb chop alongside roasted lemon potatoes, plus grilled octopus, branzino and porgies off the fish case. It's set up for whoever walks in, solo diners included, with tables that don't need advance notice.
