A room about the size of a studio apartment holds Hart's, tucked under the stairs of the Franklin Avenue C station since 2016. Whitewashed brick, blond wood tables and a skylight surround a couple of two-tops, a long communal table and five bar seats, so elbows bump by candlelight most nights. The kitchen calls its food American-ish Mediterranean: clam toast comes as two thick sourdough slices swimming in a briny pool, and a golden-brown pork milanese arrives with green tomatoes and bottarga butter. A table is usually easy to land, best kept to parties of four or fewer.
