A Beverly Hills property once home to the Machu family became Il Cielo in 1986, when Pasquale and Pattie Vericella opened an Italian restaurant there. The patio is lined with Roman columns and chandeliers under lush trees, set with white tablecloths, and the kitchen turns out polpette, bucatini all'amatriciana, chicken milanese and a steady supply of focaccia. The Vericella family still runs it, with private rooms inside for events.
