Shakespeare Bridge Garden

The Gothic-style concrete arch bridge above the garden was built in 1926 to carry Franklin Avenue over the ravine cut by Arroyo de la Sacatela, a creek diverted into storm drains in 1917. Steepled towers rise at each corner of the 260-foot span, which was largely rebuilt in 1998 to meet seismic codes after the Northridge earthquake. A small garden underneath sits in the old creek bed, with the round building of the Lycée International's Los Feliz campus just to the south.
