The Last Bookstore

Books fill a former Citizens National Bank on Spring Street, under pillars and a mosaic vaulted ceiling John Parkinson designed before he did Union Station and City Hall. Upstairs is the labyrinth added in 2013: thematic rooms, artist studios, a tunnel bent out of stacked paperbacks, and a wall at the far end where every title still costs a dollar. Vinyl and a rare-book annex share the two floors, and the vaults the bank left behind hold used stock.
