Nothing on the menu at this Melrose café involves meat. Mornings bring lemon-lavender waffles and a breakfast burrito stuffed with tater tots; later there's oyster mushroom "calamari," a spicy kale caesar and pizzas like zucchini with cashew ricotta. Juices are cold-pressed and the espresso is Canyon Coffee. A band plays jazz, blues and covers on Friday evenings, and select bottles of wine are half off on Wednesdays. The front patio is tiny and faces the Melrose foot traffic. Weekends get crowded, so expect to leave a name and wait.
