Gelato Paradiso

Two master gelato makers from Sicily partnered with the founder in 1999 to bring an Italian gelateria to California, starting in Newport Beach before the recipes made their way down to this Orange Avenue shop. The Coronado room borrows Sicilian design details paired with the building's coastal setting, and the gelato and sorbetto are made fresh in small batches daily rather than shipped in. Nearly every flavor is gluten-free, with only a few exceptions, and the staff walk newcomers through which ones to skip.
