The reimagined penthouse of Hotel La Jolla reopened in 2024 as Sea & Sky, adding retractable window panes and a show kitchen to what had been an enclosed dining room eleven floors up. Anthony Wells runs the kitchen; he came from Juniper & Ivy and picked up a James Beard nomination for Best Chef, California along the way. The menu leans coastal and specific: a Dungeness crab cake, Hokkaido scallops, whole pink snapper, a vegetable cassoulet for anyone skipping seafood. A daily Golden Hour turns the room over to sunset cocktails before dinner service starts.
