Francesco Tassone opened Enoteca Adriano on Cass Street in 2009, and after fifteen years handed it to chef Giuseppe Ciuffa, who'd already built a run of San Diego restaurants including Bottega Americano in the East Village. Ciuffa kept the enoteca format: a wine list pulling from thirteen Italian regions, poured by the glass alongside plates like Orecchiette Bosco and a burrata starter. The pasta is made in house, including a gnocchi that's stayed on the menu through the change in ownership. Reservations run through OpenTable for tables of up to ten; anything bigger needs a phone call or an event form.
