In Carlsbad Village, Same Same serves Thai-inspired dishes like khao soi noodles and chicken wings alongside cocktails such as the tequila-and-sesame-oil 40 Thieves, craft beer and natural wine. Its walls carry dried wildflower bouquets, century-old-style portraits and painted skateboards instead of typical restaurant decor. Once the kitchen closes for the night, a bouncer takes the door and the room turns into a DJ'd dance party, with checks signed inside the pages of an old romance novel.
