Torrey Pines Gliderport

Pilots have flown off this bluff for nearly a hundred years, launching from the edge of a 350-foot cliff above Black's Beach and the coastline north of La Jolla. A tandem paragliding flight here runs about twenty minutes, sailing over the ocean, the PGA golf course below and the multimillion-dollar homes along the cliffs, with an instructor handling the flying and landing. Flights go out first-come, first-served whenever the wind cooperates, and a café at the launch point serves anyone who would rather watch from the ground.
