Double Peak Park

A free viewfinder and picnic tables cover the wide plateau at the summit of Double Peak, reachable either by the paved road to the top or the trail up from Discovery Lake. Flush restrooms and shade trees ring the open area, and the view north takes in the Santa Ana and Palomar mountains, Camp Pendleton, and on clear days the San Diego skyline and Catalina Island. A separate paved path off the same trail network leads about a mile and a half to the Lake San Marcos Peak Tower.
