Tanner’s Prime Burger

Brandon Rodgers and Eric Brandt of Brandt Beef opened this smash-burger counter at the Freeman Collective in South Oceanside, building the menu around a single burger available in single or double form with 100% USDA Prime beef. Everything runs through beef tallow: the fries are cooked in it, the grill uses it, and a dessert called the Fatty Patty turns it into ice cream between a homemade cookie. The dining room has indoor seating plus a dog-friendly patio, and the counter has appeared in the Michelin Guide in 2025 and 2026.
