The Pearl's saltwater pool keeps its original 1960s oyster shape, built when the property first opened as a sportsman's lodge; today's 23-room hotel pairs it with Ponyboy, the restaurant that replaced an earlier tenant called Charles + Dinorah. Wednesday nights bring dive-in movies projected poolside, with craft cocktails and themed bites served to people watching from the water or the deck chairs. A daily Golden Hour happy hour runs earlier in the evening, pairing small bites with cocktails as the sun sets over Point Loma.
