A former home of the beer bar Tiger Tiger on El Cajon Boulevard now houses a kitchen that runs pasta, ramen, sushi and Neapolitan-style pizza side by side, opened by chef Cinzia Zolfanelli, previously of Mama Mia's in Pacific Beach, and Kuniko Holmes, who ran Sushi 2 in the Gaslamp. The two menus regularly cross: the spaghetti Calimero swaps white wine for sake and miso in its clam sauce, topped with salmon roe, and the wood-fired pizzas carry a miso-spiked marinara built for the chicken parm. A matcha version of tiramisu sits alongside the classic on the dessert menu.
