A mile-long concrete boardwalk runs the length of Harbor Island, established as a park in 1961, framing views of North Island, Shelter Island, Point Loma, the Coronado Bridge and the downtown skyline across the bay. Benches face the water for anyone settling in for sunset, and the grassy strip beside the path holds picnic tables and room for fishing, yoga or tai chi groups. Free parking runs the length of Harbor Island Drive.
