Chef and co-owner Luigi Tornatore opened this Roman-influenced trattoria in Bird Rock in 2003, about a hundred yards from the Pacific. Two spare dining rooms flank a full bar near the back of the space. Roman-style pastas share the kitchen with pizza, seafood, and meat entrees: a pan-seared king salmon, a cioppino built for two, and Pappardelle del Colosseo dressed with braised lamb ragu and dollops of goat cheese.
