Kim Locker opened this Coronado outpost after failing to find lobster rolls on the West Coast that matched what she grew up eating in New York and along the East Coast. Whole Maine lobster and red crab meat go into rolls served warm with butter, cold with mayonnaise, or spiced with jalapeno, alongside a bisque and clam chowder. Bright red tables fill the dining room and patio, though the fast-casual setup skips the weathered wood and fishing nets of an actual New England shack. It's a sister location to the original Lobster West in Encinitas, opened in 2013.
