Secret Sister

A starter more than a century and a half old anchors everything at this bakery, turning out sourdough country loaves, baguettes, scones and morning buns alongside breakfast sandwiches made on its own bread. It operates as the sister bakery to the Rose, the wine bar next door in South Park. Pastries come out on a rolling oven schedule posted online and sell first-come, first-served until they're gone, usually by early afternoon. Cakes and special orders need a week's notice, paid at the time of ordering.
