Greystone occupies an 1874 building that served as San Diego's city hall before it became a movie house for decades, running through names like The Savoy, The Diana, the Roxy and, eventually, an adult theater called the Pussycat. The steakhouse has run here since 1999, in a two-story, candle-lit dining room within the same Florentine-Italianate walls, and offers dedicated menus for proposals, anniversaries and bachelor and bachelorette parties alongside its regular dinner list. Starters run to West Coast oysters in a champagne-ginger sauce and a lobster salad in Asian dressing.
